Geoelectrical Characteristics of Samoylov Island Coastline (Lena River Delta)

Show more

“…If our assumptions are correct and the permafrost thawing is caused by the groundwater, then the underground leakage can be determined using the electrical resistivity tomography (ERT). The ERT method is successfully used to solve the problems of mapping permafrost, determining the depth of the active layer and tails (You et al 2013;McClymont et al 2013;Yeltsov et al 2017;Olenchenko et al 2019).…”

“…Several studies compare different array types and their abilities to resolve permafrost features (e.g., 49–51 ). Some practitioners collected data using multiple array types and amalgamated the data to take advantage of the strengths of each array (e.g., 51 ). In nonpermafrost research, several studies have used nonstandard array types that combine various four‐point measurements to optimize resolution, 52–54 although this is not yet common practice in permafrost research.…”

“…This array can also utilize multichannel instrument capabilities to reduce data acquisition time, as can any array that involves multiple potential measurements for a common current pole/dipole. Several studies compare different array types and their abilities to resolve permafrost features (e.g., [49][50][51] ). Some practitioners collected data using multiple array types and amalgamated the data to take advantage of the strengths of each array (e.g., 51 ).…”
