Ambrose et al (2003) argued that the major deep-seated normal faults in the Macuspana basin are primary fluid migration pathways to the Tertiary traps. In the Reforma-Akal horst, Mesozoic carbonate rocks (Upper Jurassic to Upper Cretaceous) contain most of the oil fields; only few are located in the Cenozoic siliciclastic sedimentary column.…”
