Geoportal for Searching and Visualization of Cadastral Data

Abstract: Geoportal is an indispensable part of the national spatial data infrastructure and a central point of access to spatial data. The paper presents the development of a geoportal based on the principles of service-oriented architecture. Open source frameworks and libraries were used to create geoportal. The aim of the paper is to present a partially different approach to the development of geoportals, based on the modern principles of web application development. The case study was conducted for the cadastral mun… Show more

“…Constituting part of what is called a MERN stack (MongoDB–Express–React–NodeJS), MongoDB is acknowledged as a powerful way to store and retrieve data that allows developers to move fast: MongoDB's horizontal, scale‐out architecture can support huge volumes of both data and traffic. Thanks to the flexibility of its database schema, this distribution has proved its usefulness in spatial 2D (Đurić & Amović, 2018; Voutos, Mylonas, Spyrou, & Charou, 2017) and 3D visualization applications (Trubka, Glackin, Lade, & Pettit, 2016). The management of a multiple representation structure can be visualized using such storage in the back end (Mao & Harrie, 2016).…”
