Gold Nanoparticle-Enhanced and Roll-to-Roll Nanoimprinted LSPR Platform for Detecting Interleukin-10

Abstract: Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) is a powerful platform for detecting biomolecules including proteins, nucleotides, and vesicles. Here, we report a colloidal gold (Au) nanoparticle-based assay that enhances the LSPR signal of nanoimprinted Au strips. The binding of the colloidal Au nanoparticle on the Au strip causes a red-shift of the LSPR extinction peak, enabling the detection of interleukin-10 (IL-10) cytokine. For LSPR sensor fabrication, we employed a roll-to-roll nanoimprinting process to crea… Show more

“…IL-10 detection antibody was subsequently immobilized on the strip surface. Colloidal Au nanocube (AuNC) was used to enhance the LSPR signal and the assay with AuNC crosslinked with IL-10 antibody demonstrates the sensitivity of detection at the nanomolar level [72]. In another study, a cytokine detection device using AuNP-modified silica optical fiber was developed to monitor locally variable concentrations of cytokine IL-6.…”

“…Gold cubic nanoparticles were also investigated with respect to the oxygen reduction reaction deposited on a disc electrode . The unusual properties resulting from the regular shape of the AuNCs allow the application of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) techniques for detecting biomolecules. , Today, AuNCs may be used for the preparation of label-free electrochemical aptasensors and immunosensors. AuNCs were deposited on a gold substrate in a multistage modification with cysteamine and, after aptamer immobilization, used for sensitive and selective chloramphenicol detection .…”
