Abstract:The graft copolymerization of 4-vinyl pyridine (4VP) onto nylon-6 (PA6) was studied by using potassium diperiodatonickelate(IV) (DPN)-PA6 redox system in alkaline medium. The structures of graft copolymers were confirmed by Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction. The properties of graft copolymers were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). A mechanism was proposed to explain the generation of radicals and the initiation. The effects of reaction variables, such as the in… Show more
“…Diperiodatoargentate(III) (DPA) is widely used as an oxidizing agent 22 in inorganic chemistry and may also be used as a polymerization initiator. 23 In recent years, there are some reports about using DPA in chemiluminescence, 24 however, to the best of our knowledge, no work in the literature has reported the use of DPA to detect IAA without any luminescence reagent such as luminolinvolved.…”

“…In the literature, the redox initiation is generally used for free radical graing of polymers or polymerization in solution. [20][21][22][23][24] To the best of our knowledge, redox initiation has not been used in the melt graing reactions in the literature.…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
