Grain weight of genotypes of triticale (X Triticosecale Wittmack) in agroecological conditions of Banja Luka

Abstract: Grain weight is a genotypic characteristic that is directly related to the realization of yield. Analysis of average grain weight was performed in ten genotypes of winter hexaploid triticale (Trimaran, Ticino, Odisej, Agrano, BLT21, BLT17, BLT10, Max 1793, Bogo and Tornado). Experiment was conducted during 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08. in Trapisti, region Banja Luka. During the experiment of winter triticale standard agricultural practice was applied. Microclimatic conditions during triticale cultivation in… Show more

“…Klimatski uslovi su naročito važni tokom nalivanja zrna, jer nedostatak vlage i visoke temperature tokom ovog perioda utiču na smanjenje mase 1000 zrna (Przulj et al, 2014), što potvrđuju i rezultati ovih istraživanja. Na značajne razlike u masi zrna tritikalea nezavisno od godine, kao i značajne razlike između godina nezavisno od genotipa, takođe ukazuju Kondić et al (2012).…”

“…To achieve a desirable combination of traits, breeders have developed methods for creating new high-yielding cultivars, based on extensive crossing and testing of early generation progenies. The increase in grain yield is possible through increasing values of yield components: spike traits, efficiency of photosynthesis and use of nutrients (Knežević et al, 2012). The increasing capacity of spike traits responds to environmental factors, such as temperature values, precipitation, nutrition (Petrović et al 2008).…”

“…Grain weight spike -1 is positively correlated with spike weight and total grain yield (Okuyama, 2005). Moreover, breeding wheat for improved capacity of the morphological and anatomical structure of plant and organs contributes to increasing grain weight spike -1 in selected cultivars (Kondić et al, 2012).…”

“…The aims of agricultural production are increasing yield and quality of crops and reducing losses (Knezevic et al, 2017). Improved crop management based on selection of high yielding genotypes, improved soil fertility by application of fertilizers, irrigation, application pesticide contributed to increasing of yield in agricultural crops (Paunovic et al 2009;Kondic et al, 2012). However, in diverse agro-ecosystems the crop production conducted under pressure of biotic and abiotic limited factors (pests, insects, rodents, drought, frost, high and low temperature air, etc.)…”
