Green fabrication of zinc oxide nanospheres by aspidopterys cordata for effective antioxidant and antibacterial activity

Abstract: The present work portray the Aspidopterys Cordata (AC) leaf extract-assisted fabrication of zinc oxide nanospheres (ZnO NSs) using an eco-friendly approach for antibacterial and antioxidant activity. As fabricated ZnO NSs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), fouriertransform infrared (FT-IR), energy dispersive X-ray diffraction (EDX), UV-Visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-DRS), Raman, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and transmission electron micro… Show more

“…Recently, many methods have been adopted for the synthesis of silver oxide (Ag 2 O) NPs, namely, reduction in chemical, photochemical, and solutions reaction in thermal decomposition; reverse micelles of Ag compounds; radiation-assisted, electrochemical biosynthesis; and biosynthesis using living-plant systems. [7][8][9][10] Because of the potential applications for the development of new skills, research in this area has extended to the synthesis of semiconductor and metal NPs.…”

“…A variety of phytochemicals derived from natural sources are utilized as green reducers in synthesis of metal, metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs), nanocomposites (NCs) etc. For example, leaves of aspidopterys cordata are highly efficient as a green reducing agent for the synthesis of copper oxide NPs [68]. In addition, Colocasia esculenta and M. ferrea Linn are abundant in some locations, whereas orange peel is a waste material.…”

“…Giri et al developed rectangular ZnO porous assembly with admirable catalytic activity. The ZnO based nanostructured material have shown outstanding heterogeneous catalytic activity for the synthesis of 5-substituted-1Htetrazoles (yield = 94 %) [55,56]. Chaudhary et al have reported the fabrication of spinel copper aluminates NCs for microbial assay and electrochemical performances via solvent-free synthesis of xanthanedione derivatives.…”
