Green synthesis, characterization, enhanced functionality and biological evaluation of silver nanoparticles based on Coriander sativum

Abstract: The present study focused on the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles from Coriander sativum (CS) containing structural polymers, phenolic compounds and glycosidic bioactive macromolecules. Plant phenolic compounds can act as antioxidants, lignin, and attractants like flavonoids and carotenoids. Henceforth, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were prepared extracellularly by the combinatorial action of stabilizing and reduction of the CS leaf extract. The biologically synthesized CS-AgNPs we… Show more

“…Alternatively, the plantbased green synthesis of NPs has proven a rapid, ecofriendly process with advances over microbe-mediated synthesis in the time taken for culturing and its maintenance. Due to the diverse characteristics of metallic nanoparticles like size, magnetization property, flexibility, and rigidity, metallic nanoparticles are extensively used in various sectors, including drug delivery, biosensors, catalysis, and antibacterial agents [2,3].…”

“…The antibacterial activity of newly synthesized AgNPs may be attributed to the formation of oxidative stress, deterioration in replication of DNA, and also AgNPs can directly reason lysis of bacterial cell via damaging the cell membranes. 29 As mentioned above, newly synthesized AgNPs had also DNA cleavage activity. This results from present study can be caused the antimicrobial activity against studied microorganisms.…”

“…An unbalance between the antioxidant and pro-oxidants results in formation of oxidative stress in biological systems with reduce in antioxidant enzymes causing to harm of crucial biomolecules and other cellular components. 18 In addition, ROS, which is released as a result of oxidative stress, contributes to the formation of various diseases including cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. Antioxidants play a protective role in diseases caused by oxidative stress.…”

“…Coriander plants have a of lot medical and gastronomy uses. It is s a common spice and a major curry powder ingredient and contains antimicrobial, hypolipidemic, hypoglycemic action and insecticidal properties [ 41 ] due to the presence of phenolic compounds (lignins and flavonoids) mainly located in the leaves [ 41 ]. Therefore, number of leafs and foliar nitrogen are the most important properties.…”
