Green Transport Chains Analysis: Pollution vs. Price and Time Elements on Asia – Eastern Adriatic Trade

Abstract: The article emphasizes the importance of considering modern transport chains from the point of view of green transport. In addition to the traditional way of dealing with transport chains and supply chains, where the focus is on the price and timing of the transport service, all stakeholders in such chains should be systematically informed about the level of GHG emissions and energy efficiency so that a higher level of awareness of cargo owners can be ensured to choose sustainable transport and logistics servi… Show more

“…According to previous research, sepias live for one to two years before spawning and dying (Dan et al, 2012) [14] . Starešinić (2004) [15] mentioned that Sepioteuthis lessoniana is a short-lived species, with a maximum recorded lifespan of 315 days. Lee (1994) [16] stated that cephalopods have fast growth rates, between 3 and 15% body weight per day.…”

“…In addition, Edmans et al (2016) explain that reducing operational costs will undoubtedly reduce the efficiency of actual business and decrease the company's performance. The efficiency of operation is also studied by Beškovnik et al (2020) and Ghufran et al (20123). They focus on the price and timing of the transport service so that a higher level of awareness of cargo owners can be convinced to choose sustainable transport and logistic services (Beškovnik et al, 2020).…”

Robinson (1998) gives an example of Asia, where the hub port system, as the main line and feeder net, reflects different levels of cost efficiency.…”

“…It also pointed to shorter shipping routes for ships, shorter routes for rail and road transport from the port, prices for port operations, etc. Similarly, the contribution of Beskovnik, B. et al [2] also point to these factors, but also to the environmental impacts and the reduction of energy intensity of logistics chains using the ports of the Eastern Adriatic. The issue of the need to optimize the type of transport and logistics processes for manufacturing companies is addressed by Peceny, L. Et al.…”
