GreenCloudNet++: Simulation framework for energy efficient and secure, green job scheduling in geographically distributed data centers

Abstract: Geographically distributed data centers are used as backbone infrastructure to meet rapidly increasing service demands of computations and data storage in cloud computing. This increase results in high energy consumption, increased operational expenditures, and high carbon footprint which are becoming points of great concern for service providers. In this research work, we present a simulation framework named GreenCloudNet++ for simulation and evaluation of energy‐efficient, green‐aware, and secure job schedul… Show more

“…With a more accurate prediction method for task usage, in addition to other improvements and adaptations, the approach presented here is a viable option to efficiently make use of renewable energy in data centers. In the future, we would like to test our algorithms using a data-center simulator such as [44] in the context of a geographically distributed data center as well as in the case of non-distributed data center. We also aim to extend this work to VM placement instead of task placement while maintaining extra constraints related, for instance, to inter-VM communication [45].…”

“…• Communication: With the current communication technology, this does not mean that cargo is transported safely because there could be fraud committed by container truck operators and freight forwarders (Jain & Gupta, 2019;Mahmood et al, 2022). c. Procedure: The cause of cargo theft could also be procedural irregularities.…”

“…Various simulation services and simulation resources provided by the cloud server can be accessed through Gigabit Ethernet. Supported by their corresponding system software, the servers and disk arrays of the cloud platform are divided into two parts: computing clusters and data clusters according to different functions, which, respectively, carry related services such as simulation scientific computing services and database cluster cloud management [26][27][28]. The computer terminals of ordinary users carry the interactive functions of simulation task deduction and the functions of visual display and interaction of simulation results, as shown in Figure 4; they exchange data with computing clusters and data clusters through network switches and constitute the entire cloud-based task deduction and virtual experiment platform.…”
