This research represents the results of field work conducted in the period from March 29 to May 29. 2020, to determine and record the location of illegal waste disposal sites in the municipalities of Istočno Novo Sarajevo and Istočna Ilidža. The location of illegal waste disposal sites was analyzed based on two groups of factors: space exposure and space sensitivity. The analysis included following exposure factors: distance from urban settlements, distance from roads and population density and sensitivity factors: land cover, hydrogeological characteristics of the substrate, distance from springs and watercourses and land slope. In addition to the location of illegal waste disposal sites, it was analyzed the potential vulnerability of space based on both groups of factors. Final map of spatial vulnerability was created using multi-factor analysis. This work emphasizes the possibility of using easily accessible devices for recording the locations of illegal waste disposal sites, as well as the importance of geographic information systems in the analysis and monitoring of the state of the environment. Based on the example presented in the work, the possibility of applying a similar model on the territory of other municipalities is given, with the aim of preventing the negative consequences of pollution on human health and the environment.

Natural and landscape complex of Pale municipality, where dominates mountainous areas, are characterized by diversity of geological and geomorphological phenomena and forms, as well as biological and ecosystem diversity. The significance of natural heritage is multiple, especially in terms of tourism and adapting the tourist offer to the needs and expectations of modern tourists. The aim of the research of this paper is to determine the Pale population attitudes in regarding natural heritage of the municipality. In accordance with the set goal, defined research questions were analyzed relative to gender, age, qualifications and employment. Attitudes were analyzed according to the importance of natural heritage at local and national levels, importance for tourism development, economic prosperity and improvement of the quality of life. In terms of preserving and protecting the natural heritage of the municipality, several studies has been done, but in practice the situation is much worse, so the attitude of the Pale population was studied with respect to the importance of protecting and preserving the natural heritage.

Research of human settlements on the karst area of East Sarajevo starts with a brief overview of the City's characteristic traits and the influence of relief on the distribution of the population. The karst terrain was mapped using GIS tools, after which the percentage of the population and its concentration on the karst area of the East Sarajevo was determined. Karst areas have a low population density caused by difficult living conditions due to the vertical and horizontal dissection of relief, lack of mineral resources, geodynamic disasters, water shortages, specific climate conditions, degraded land, and vegetation. The consequences are the fragmentation of property, migration and aging of the population, lack of labor, weakening of the economy, etc. The research focus is to determine the degree of the anthropogenic impact on the karst environment and to apply the suitable methodology in the determination of the settlements categories according to the degree of karst environment vulnerability.
