“…Pyroptosis in cancer generates abundant neoantigens, which are processed by antigen-presenting cells to promote the formation of antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL), thereby evoking anti-tumor immunity. Combination of pyroptosis-inducible therapeutic regimens with ICIs enhances anti-tumor immune responses and promotes tumor regression, achieving longterm control of cancer tumor immunity, which enhances the ability of cisplatin to regress non-small cell lung cancer [120]. Our group found that the natural product triptolide exerts tumor suppression activity through inducing GSDME-mediated pyroptosis in head and neck cancer cells (unpublished data), highlighting its potential to serve as an adjuvant approach for cancer immune therapy.…”

“…Induction of sustainable anti-tumor immunity may improve the efficacy of cancer chemotherapy. Induction of GSDME-mediated pyroptosis evokes anti-tumor immunity, which enhances the ability of cisplatin to regress non-small cell lung cancer [ 120 ]. “…The chemotherapeutic drug cisplatin regulates the release of immune factors in the induction of GSDME-mediated pyroptosis, and the level of MIP-1a, MIP-1b, MIP-2 and IP-10 in tumor tissues and blood are increase. Peng et al think that it is precisely the release of immune factors that recruits T cells in tumor tissues and trigger anti-tumor effect (80).…”

“…According to the published literatures, various types of cell death, including cell apoptosis [26][27][28], necroptosis [29,30], ferroptosis [31,32], and pyroptosis [33][34][35], involve in regulating cisplatin-resistance in cancers. Especially, cell apoptosis [26][27][28] and pyroptosis [33][34][35] are two types of programmed cell death that participate in the regulation of cisplatin-resistance in NSCLC, and researchers notice that there exist interplays between apoptotic and pyroptotic cell death [36,37].…”
