H.264 Video Transmission over Wlan in Opnet Modeller

Abstract: One of the biggest challenges of communication networks is the video transmission in real time. It requires high demands on the available network capacity and transport mechanisms. Availability of smart mobile devices with batteries, which keep the terminal working for several hours, caused an increased interest in the research of the deployment of video transmission in wireless transmission systems. The presented paper deals with the transmission of video encoded with H.264/AVC (Advanced Video Coding) video c… Show more

“…Naturally, the simplest solution to solve this problem, is to encode each individual video sequence independently using a state-of-the-art codec such as H.264/AVC [14] or the recently introduced H.265/HEVC [15]. The first one can be with advantage used in wireless networks as shown in [16]. Recent investigations done by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) has shown that further improvements can be done by exploiting statistical dependencies within MVV Coding (MVC).…”

“…Rapid development of technologies in the field of wireless networking resulted in making multi interface devices. Todays, almost all of the network nodes are equipped to different technologies such as cellular networks and WLAN which can use different types of service [1][2][3]. In this environment, selecting the proper interface for connection is an important challenge.…”
