“…Although the usage of prophylaxis in the postoperative period is controversial, it is beneficial to continue treatments 24 hours postoperatively. 8 , 42 In our study, cephazolin sodium (1 g) was administered intravenously to all patients 30 to 60 minutes prior to surgery, and it was continued postoperatively at a dose of twice a day at 12-hour intervals for 24 hours.
