Heavy quarkonia in a bulk viscous medium

Abstract: We study the properties of heavy quarkonia in a quark gluon plasma in the presence of bulk viscous effects. Within the hard thermal loop approximation at one-loop, the dielectric permittivity of a quark gluon plasma is computed, where the bulk viscous effect enters through the deformation of the distribution functions of thermal quarks and gluons. Based on the modified dielectric permittivity, we compute the in-medium heavy quark potential, that includes non-pertubative string-like terms as well as the perturb… Show more

“…A collision integral that takes account of the 2 → 2 elastic HQ-thermal particle collisions in the QGP medium is considered in the analysis. The significance of viscous coefficients of the QGP medium has already been discussed in dilepton emission, photon production, heavy quarkonia, anisotropic flow, and other relevant observables of heavy-ion collisions at the RHIC and the LHC [39][40][41][42][43][44][45].…”

“…We incorporate the bulk viscous correction through the modification of quasiparticle distribution functions in the momentum space. This in turn modifies the dielectric permittivity, which can be used [56] to obtain an in-medium potential for a bulk-viscous medium. 1 Using the modified heavy quark complex potential, we compute the spectral functions [64] of quarkonium states in a bulk viscous medium.…”
