Hepatoprotective Properties of <i>Bauhinia variegata</i> Bark Extract

Abstract: Bauhinia variegata (Leguminosae) commonly known as Kachnar, is widely used in Ayurveda as tonic to the liver. The present work was carried out to assess the potential of Bauhinia variegata bark as hepatoprotective agent. The hepatoprotective activity was investigated in carbon tetrachloride (CCl 4 ) intoxicated Sprague-Dawley rats.
