Magazines, often published periodically with a variety of contents, have long been successful in catering to magazine readers' various content needs and reading interests. In recent years, interactive digital magazines instead of replicas of printed magazines, based on digital devices have been gaining popularity and preference due to its unrivaled convenience and interactivity. To some extent, many people's magazine-reading habits have been changed due to their adoption of mobile digital devices. This study is designed to analyze mobile digital devices' influence on magazine reading habits amongst university students in Hong Kong. Issues such as mobile digital devices' level of adoption amongst university students and their preferences on devices for different magazine types are analyzed. Our findings show that university students in Hong Kong read more types of magazines after they started to use mobile digital devices, mainly using tablets. The findings of the study are useful for librarians (academic librarians in particular) and digital publishing vendors to explore the issues concerning services and collection development of interactive digital resources.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the usability of Mobile Assisted Language Learning i.e. Literacy and Numeracy Drive (LND) which is smartphone application to learn language and mathematics in public sector primary schools of Punjab, the biggest province of Pakistan. In this study, usability tests were conducted which included surveys of questionnaires from teachers and students. The user experience, reliability, and performance of mobile application assessed, along with user satisfaction. The LND mobile application has not been found to be successful, with a poor user interface and requires improvement. The "Using Experience," "Ease of Use" and "Usefulness" variables have been the lowest scorers in terms of user experience. Mobile device specifications were not simple and confusing; the services provided by the LND were not appealing and effective for students or teachers. This research suggested several improvements in the usability and functionality of this LND application based on assessed user experience. Many schools have chosen to use mobile apps for the teaching and evaluation of language at school. The use of mobile-assisted learning at public sector schools in Punjab, invites us to gauge the usability and effectiveness of this approach at such a huge scale which will make it more effective.

Tingkat usability dapat mempengaruhi kemudahan penggunaan suatu aplikasi termasuk aplikasi mobile, sehingga penting untuk dilakukanya evaluasi. Aplikasi Simalu merupakan sebuah aplikasi lokal Bali yang bergerak dalam bidang kebersihan lingkungan. Simalu tergolong aplikasi baru karena dirilis pada awal bulan Januari tahun 2018 dan belum pernah dilakukan evaluasi usability sebelumnya. Evaluasi usability dilakukan untuk meningkatkan User Experience pengguna, sehingga aplikasi dapat diterima dan digunakan lebih mudah oleh pengguna. Metode yang digunakan untuk melakukan evaluasi yaitu usability testing dengan teknik Retrospective Think Aloud dan Performance Measurement. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah aplikasi Simalu memiliki kualitas yang belum dapat dikatakan efektif, efisien dan memenuhi kepuasan pengguna, sehingga perbaikan desain juga dilakukan agar aplikasi lebih baik lagi untuk memenuhi harapan pengguna. Kata kunci: Aplikasi Simalu, Evaluasi Usability, User Experience, Usability Testing, Retrospective Think Aloud, Performance Measurement.
