“…The incorporation of ZnO and Al 2 O 3 increases the stability of Cu active sites for methanol synthesis and, on the other hand, the limitation of the acid strength of the sites of HZSM-5 zeolite is a key factor to minimize the formation of coke from the hydrocarbons obtained as by-products [21][22][23]. García-Trenco et al, have studied the effect of the acidity and the porous structure of the zeolite [24,25] and the method used for the mixture of both metallic and acid functions [26], on the performance of CuO-ZnO-Al 2 O 3 /HZSM-5 catalysts.…”

“…19,20 To the best of our knowledge, only a few papers regarding the catalytic performance of micro-mesoporous systems with ZSM-5 zeolite properties in the synthesis of DME were published. In our previous studies 21 we examined micromesoporous ZSM-5 obtained by desilication of the parent zeolite with 0.1 M NaOH solution for 1, 2 and 4 h. The desilicated samples exhibited higher catalytic activity and stability in DME synthesis in comparison to the conventional zeolite. Wei et al 22 investigated the catalytic activity of desilicated ZSM-5 (using 0.2 M NaOH) with different Si/Al ratios, and reported an improvement in the selectivity to DME.…”

“…XRD patterns of these zeolites are shown in Figure . Although their intrinsic MFI structures were well preserved upon alkali treatment, the peak intensity decreased in different degrees relative to that of P‐Z5 sample. This results from the different extraction degrees of silicon species from the zeolite framework under different treatment conditions.…”
