“…The particle size also has an effect on the specific surface area, which can increase due to decreasing the particle size and/or increasing the porosity of particles [40,41]. There is a drop in the specific surface area when Sr or Co are incorporated in the MBGs, which is due to the "disturbing" effect of ions, but when Sr and Co are simultaneously incorporated the material exhibits higher specific surface area (Table 6).…”

“…As the graphs (a‐f) show, increasing the value of X from 0 to 1 leads to the decrement of the foregoing band intensity, except in the case of the Co‐O adsorption band. This matter could stem from the increment of the samples' combustion temperature as well as the decrement of Co oxide's hydrophilicity compared to Zn oxide 13‐15 . The presence of residual nitrate groups that are present in the samples synthesized at F/O < 1 could also be the other reason which leads to the presence of the foregoing O‐H bands.…”

“…Accordingly, the solution combustion synthesis (SCS) process, while preserving the previous methods’ advantages, can produce nanoparticles of high purity and homogeneity, without the need for an external heat source 13‐15 . This method comprises an exothermic redox reaction between a homogenous solution of oxidizers (such as metallic nitrates) and different fuels (such as urea, glycine, and hydrazides) and can be successfully employed to synthesize nanostructured metallic oxides 13‐15 . The short duration of the process and the prevention of particles’ growth by the production of different gases during the process can be regarded as the merits of the SCS method relative to the other ones 14‐17 .…”

“…48 In addition, under acidic conditions, excess hydrogen ions can scavenge sulfate radicals and hydroxyl radicals to adversely affect catalysis (eqn (14)). And strong acid conditions inhibit the activation of persulfate through acid catalyzing persulfate (eqn (15) and (16) Fig. 10a shows the effect of Cl À concentration on catalytic degradation of BPA.…”

“…Spinel zinc ferrite (ZnFe 2 O 4 ) has attracted wide attention due to its low cost, free of precious or carcinogenic metals, and environmentally friendly. 11 The synthesis methods of ZnFe 2 O 4 mainly include solid phase method, 12 co-precipitation method, 13 hydrothermal method, 14 sol-gel method 15 and so on. Among them, the solid phase process is a simple and effective method because of operation to easy, environmentally friendly, low cost, short time, and suitable for industrialization.…”
