High-flow nasal oxygen for suspension laryngoscopy: a multicenter open-label study

Abstract: In this study, we aimed to assess the efficacy of high-flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) to maintain blood peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) in patients undergoing suspension laryngoscopy under general anesthesia. Adult patients were included in this bicenter study. After face-mask oxygenation, HFNO at a flow rate of 70 L min−1 and fraction of inspired oxygen 100% was initiated at loss of consciousness.
