High-frequency tunable EPR spectroscopy of Tm3+ ions in synthetic forsterite

Abstract: Paramagnetic centers formed by impurity Tm 3 § ions in synthetic forsterite MgzSiO 4 were studied by high-frequency tunable electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy in the frequency range of 150-315 GHz. Crystals were grown from the melt by the Czochralski teehnique in slightly oxidizing atmosphere.
