High-Quality Corrugated Resonators for Measurements at Millimeter and Submillimeter-Wave Bands

Abstract: The general-purpose set of resonator for the band 32-405 GHz has been studied both theoretically and experimentally. The described resonators are cylindrical cavities with corrugated side surfaces and flat end covers. The simple theoretical approach for TM 0mn eigenmode analysis is given. Physical principles of Q-factor enhancement, mode selection, frequency stabilization, and matching with standard waveguides are discussed. Experimental techniques and measurement data are given.
