Abstract:Indoles and pyrroloindoles are structural motifs present in many biologically active natural products. Multiple classes of enzymes catalyze the transformation of indoles into pyrroloindoles via group transfer followed by intramolecular cyclization, such as peroxydases, methyltransferases, and prenyltransferases.
