Hipotensão pós-exercício em indivíduos hipertensos: uma revisão

Abstract: Post-exercise hypotension (PEH) may follow a session of physical exercises. This effect has high clinical relevance for hypertensive individuals. Although there are several studies on the subject, an analysis is still lacking on a state-of-art approach considering different types of exercises.Using a review of literature, the aim of this paper was to verify the relationship between aerobic exercise and resistance exercise in PEH in hypertensive people. For the purpose of this study, Scielo and Medline databases… Show more

“…The former ones, although they do not confer adverse risks to participants, are bound with several methodological weaknesses (small sample size, heterogeneous results and protocols, and lack of appropriate control groups) that prevent practical recommendations to be formulated for hypertensive populations [16,29]. On the other hand, the exercise techniques, which comprise a wide variety of methods/types, have acquired consolidated body of evidence referring to the prevention/minimization of higher BP [17].…”

“…Besides the BP levels at baseline, the type of exercise performed also influences the magnitude of PEH [17]. The majority of studies show that aerobic exercises are more effective in promoting PEH in comparison with resistance exercises.…”

“…Assim, por um lado, a realização de atividade e/ou exercício físico é importante no tratamento não farmacológico para a redução da PA. Por outro, ainda não está definido o melhor tipo de exercício, sendo o aeróbio o mais indicado, segundo os artigos pesquisados [22][23][24][25][26][27] .…”

“…There is evidence that a single session of rE promotes BP reduction in hypertensive 5 and normotensive individuals 6 and these responses may be related to the sessions volume/intensity 7 . Among the mechanisms associated with the BP reductions are alterations in cardiac sympathovagal modulation.…”
