“…Regarding HLA‐A, ‐B, ‐DR haplotypes, A33‐B58‐DR17, A2‐B46‐DR9, A33‐B44‐DR7, and A11‐B75‐DR12 were commonly found similar to previous studies among Thais (14, 17). As the population of central Thailand is a mixture of original Thai and Southern Chinese, three common haplotypes, A33‐B58‐DR17, A2‐B46‐DR9, and A11‐B75‐DR12, were found similar to Chinese, Taiwanese, and Singaporean populations (18–20). Comparing HLA HFs, observed more than 2% in the TSCDR with Chinese bone marrow donors, the HLA‐A33‐B44‐DR7 HF (2.85%) was higher than that of Chinese bone marrow donors (0.41%), whereas the common HLA‐A30‐B13‐DR7 HF (4.52%) in Chinese bone marrow donors was higher than TSCDR (1.56%) (18).…”

“…Thirty-two of the 34 haplotypes (94%) determined in Singapore Chinese CB units that occurred more than once in the study were observed in our current investigation (Supplementary Table 1). Conversely, 13 of the 21 haplotypes (62%) observed more than 10 times in our study (Table 3) were found in the haplotypes occurring more than once in Singapore Chinese CB units [15]. Although Asian Americans are represented heterogeneously by many ethnic groups in the United States [10,19], 15 of the 20 most common haplotypes determined in Asian Americans [19] were found in this study ( Table 4).…”

“…We compared our predicted haplotypes with the results of the haplotype study on Singapore Chinese CB units [15] and other population studies [10,[13][14][15][16]. Thirty-two of the 34 haplotypes (94%) determined in Singapore Chinese CB units that occurred more than once in the study were observed in our current investigation (Supplementary Table 1).…”

“…The two studies’ results are in good agreement with each other. Concerning four‐locus haplotypes, one Singaporean study (Tang et al. , 2007) reported the most common A–Cw–B–DRB1 haplotypes from 536 Chinese Singapore Bone Marrow Program donors were A*02–Cw*01–B*46–DRB1*09 (HF= 5.59%), A*33–Cw*03–B*58–DRB1*03 (HF = 5.11%) and A*11–Cw*08–B*15–DRB1*12 (HF = 4.04%); and the most common A–Cw–B–DRB1 haplotypes from 258 Chinese Singapore Cord Blood Bank registry data were A*3303g–Cw*0302g–B*5801–DRB1*0301 (HF = 3.88%), A*0201g–Cw*0102g–B*4601/2–DRB1*0901 (HF = 3.49%) and A*1101g–Cw*0801g–B*1502g–DRB1*1202 (HF = 3.49%).…”
