Holographic estimate of the meson cloud contribution to nucleon axial form factor

Abstract: We use light-front holography to estimate the valence quark and the meson cloud contributions to the nucleon axial form factor. The free couplings of the holographic model are determined by the empirical data and by the information extracted from lattice QCD. The holographic model provides a good description of the empirical data when we consider a meson cloud mixture of about 30% in the physical nucleon state. The estimate of the valence quark contribution to the nucleon axial form factor compares well with t… Show more

“…We refer to the articles [51,52] for a review of experimental data on the nucleon axial FFs. The axial FFs can be extracted using various theoretical approaches [53][54][55][56][57][58][59][60][61]. In recent years, lattice QCD simulations of axial FFs have been reported for pion masses in the range 0.2 − 0.6 GeV [62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69], while in a very recent study, the lattice QCD calculation of nucleon axial FF in 2 + 1 flavor near the physical pion mass has been presented by the PACS Collaboration [70].…”

“…As mentioned, FFs can be written in terms of GPDs, and hence their measurements can give us useful important information on GPDs. In the case of nucleon spin studies, AFFs which are related to polarized GPDs can be extracted using various approaches [37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44]. One can find a review of experimental data in Refs.…”

“…For example, the vector form factors provide the charge and electromagnetic hadron structure and interactions, the nucleon axial form factor provides important information for their spin structure and weak interaction observables such as neutron beta decay or CKM matrix unitarity. There are many theoretical calculations for the light hadrons strong form factors, for example [6,7,8,9,10,11,18,12,13,14,15,16,17] and references therein. Lattely, lattice estimations for pion-nucleon/baryons interactions were provided for progressively lower values of the pion mass, for example in [17,10,18].…”
