“…Since the probability of generating the stacking faults is very small, the screw dislocations can cross-slip, allowing accommodating large deformations with a small change in the orientation of their crystallographic structure. Thus, the grain refinement is achieved by the successive subdivision of the dislocations walls [26][27][28][29] . Figure 7 represent the engineering stress-strain curves for AR and WR samples.…”

“…In a low-nitrogen material, austenite will be attacked and with increased nitrogen content, nitrogen will strengthen the austenite and ferrite will be attacked. Nitrogen also hardens the austenite phase significantly thereby increasing the strength difference of ferrite and austenite significantly as per the hardness increment shown during deformation of 2101 DSS by Patra et al [10]. In comparison to austenitic stainless steel, nitrogen content in duplex stainless steel can't influence the sigma phase precipitation.…”

“…Ferritic solidification is not difficult as impurities is soluble in ferrite. In the as cast structure, mainly coherent or semi-coherent interphase boundaries can be observed where ferrite and austenite follow Kurdjumov-Sachs (K-S) or Nishiyama-Wassermann (N-W) orientation relationship (OR) [10,12,45]. EBSD inverse pole figure map of as-cast and hot-rolled samples is presented in Fig.…”

“…Uma vez que a probabilidade de se gerar as falhas de empilhamento é muito pequena, as deslocações em parafuso podem realizar o escorregamento cruzado, permitindo acomodar grandes deformações com uma pequena alteração na orientação de sua estrutura cristalográfica. Assim, o refinamento de grãos é alcançado pela subdivisão sucessiva das paredes de deslocações [18,[25][26][27].…”
