Hourly Profiles of Air Pollution Variation in Selected Cities, Towns and Villages in Poland

Abstract: Concentration of air pollution in urbanized and agricultural areas is related to the activity of various economy sectors (the so-called SNAP categories). Therefore, the change in the emission of pollutants by an anthropogenic source should result in a change in the air pollution level in the selected area. To better understand the nature of changes in air pollution concentration in urban and agricultural areas, an analysis of data of five-year (2012-2016) air quality measurements, carried out at selected autom… Show more

“…The surface data considers the measurements from a specific point area which may be industrial, forest, urban, rural, etc. In urban and industrial regions, CO and NO 2 concentrations are high during peak office hours (Cichowicz & Stelegowski, 2019 ). AIRS data takes an average of 10 × 10 spatial resolutions that cover a large area.…”

Oxides of carbon (C), sulfur (S), nitrogen (N), particulate matter (MP 10 ), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and nickel (Ni), released from motor vehicle exhausts, industry and heating systems, represent a major source of pollution in urban environments (US EPA, 2015).…”
