How does COVID-19 affect tourism in terms of people’s willingness to travel? Empirical evidence from China

Abstract: Purpose Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has resulted in traveling restrictions and decreased the demand among travelers since the end of 2019. Policies and people’s behaviors are gradually changing with the increase in the number of new diagnoses of COVID-19. Tourism increases tourists’ risk of contracting COVID-19 and will undoubtedly be affected by this disease.
