HPTLC Determination of Betamethasone in Tablets and Its Validation

Abstract: A simple and rapid high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) densitometric method has been developed for determination of betamethasone base in the tablets. After extraction of the analyte with 96% ethanol, the extracts were spotted on precoated HPTLC silica gel plates, which were then developed with a mixture of chloroformmethanol-water (18 : 5 : 0.5).
