Hsa_circ_0060927 participates in the regulation of Caudatin on colorectal cancer malignant progression by sponging miR‐421/miR‐195‐5p

Abstract: Background Caudatin is extracted from radix cynanchi bungei and has an inhibitory effect on cancer progression. The study aims to reveal the impacts of hsa_circ_0060927 on Caudatin‐mediated colorectal cancer (CRC) development and the underneath mechanism. Methods The expression levels of hsa_circ_0060927, microRNA‐421 (miR‐421) and miR‐195‐5p were detected by quantitative real‐time reverse transcription‐polymerase chain reaction. The protein expression was analyzed by Western blot or immunohistochemistry assay… Show more

“…In fact, two independent studies in glioma, another type of brain tumor [82,83], showed an overexpression of circHIPK3 and its involvement in the disease by reducing the expression of miR-421 and miR-124, which prevent cell proliferation and growth through CDK6 inhibition [84]. Additionally, these miRNAs seem to be downregulated in different cancers, such as colorectal cancer, confirming the hypothesis that circHIPK3 upregulation may reduce these miRNA levels [85]. Those miRNAs are commonly downregulated in MB, which does not fit with the proposed hypothesis that this is mediated by the upregulation of circHIPK3, as it has been shown in different cancers.…”

“…It has been reported that has-mir-421 is closely related to lung adenocarcinoma. The results of Chen et al [38] showed that the increased expression level of has-mir-421 in plasma can significantly distinguish normal people, especially in early lung adenocarcinoma. However, has-mir-181b-3P, has-mir-337-3P, and has-mir-548d-3P have not been reported in lung adenocarcinoma, which is worthy of further study on their interaction with hsa_circ_0061817.…”
