Background : Low Birth Weight (LBW) babies are babies who weigh less than 2,500 grams at birth regardless of gestational age. The factors for the occurrence of LBW include: giving birth to more than one baby; heredity; the mother has health and emotional problems during pregnancy, such as anemia, miscarriage/abortion, stress, etc. An increase in LBW cases in a country will have an impact on an increase in IMR in that country.
