BACKGROUND: The incidence rate of hypertension is increasing in Indonesia concerning unhealthy behaviours such as unhealthy physical activity and eating pattern which trigger obesity. In Indonesia, the prevalence of hypertension in > 18-year-old people was 34.1% in 2018. AIM: The objective of the research was to find out the relationship between physical activity and obesity with the incidence of hypertension in adults (26-45 years old) in Medan. METHODS: The research was done in Medan, using a case-control study design. The samples were 150 hypertension patients, taken by using proportional allocation: 75 of them were in the case group and the other 75 of them were in the control group. The data were gathered by conducting interviews, measurement, and questionnaires and analysed by using simple logistic regression test. RESULTS: The result of the research showed that there was significant relationship of physical activity (p = 0.000; OR = 3.6; 95% CI, 1.802-7.270) and obesity (p = 0.000; OR = 4; 95% CI, 2.030-7.900) with the incidence of hypertension in 26-45-year-old respondents. CONCLUSION: Make a habit of a healthy lifestyle in their daily life by doing physical activity regularly and good eating pattern to forestall hypertension.

Hypertension is an unfinished health problem until now. Hypertension is a disease that causes stroke and decreases the quality of life. One of the preventable causes of hypertension is obese. The purpose of this study is observing the relationship between nutritional status, in this case obesity, and the incidence of hypertension in young adults (18-40 years) in Tomohon City. By utilizing a cross sectional approach, this research was conducted in January-December 2019 on young adults aged 18-40 years who visited 7 community health centers in Tomohon. There were 4,040 samples who were willing to be involved in this study, who had never previously been diagnosed with hypertension by a doctor in any health facility. Based on the Pearson's chi-square test showed a p-value of age and the incidence of hypertension is 0.0001 < 0.05 with estimated risk of 2.206 (CI 95%: 1.917-2.593). P-value of gender and the incidence of hypertension is 0.0001 < 0.05 with estimated risk of 0.715 (CI 95%: 0.622-0.823). P-value of obesity and the incidence of hypertension is 0.0001 < 0.05 with estimated risk of 2.502 (CI 95%: 2.150-2.911). So, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between obesity and the incidence of hypertension

BACKGROUND: Globally, human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is a serious health issue, as the number of sufferers increases from year to year. As there are many HIV/AIDS cases, antiretroviral treatment (ART) regimens’ success is determined by the high adherence of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) undergoing a treatment regimen. PLWHA adherence in undergoing ART regimens can be influenced by discriminatory behavior toward them. AIM: This study aims to identify discriminatory behavior in PLWHA toward adherence to ART in Yogyakarta. METHODS: This research used a qualitative method with a phenomenology approach. The collection of data was carried out through interviews and observation. Participants totaling seven people were determined by purposive sampling. The data validity employed source triangulation and checked the data back to the participants. Analysis of data was by comparing among categories, marking, and describing descriptively. RESULTS: The results showed that PLWHA got discriminatory behavior around them during ARV treatment, which came from the attitude of health workers and unpleasant experiences from the environment, but this discriminatory behavior did not affect PLWHA adherence to ARV treatment. CONCLUSION: Discriminatory behavior from health workers and the environment around PLWHA did not affect PLWHA adherence during ARV treatment.
