Hyaluronan-cationic surfactant interactions have been described in many previous papers (Bjoerling, Hersloef-Bjoerling, & Stilbs, 1995;Halasová, Krouská, Mravec, & Pekař, 2011;Hersloef, Sundeloef, & Edsman, 1992;Thalberg & Lindman, 1989;Thalberg, Lindman, & Karlstroem, 1990) but, to date, no reports about the influence of hyaluronan hydration in hyaluronan-surfactant interaction have been reported. It is known that polyelectrolytes, such as polystyrenesulfonate or hyaluronan, form so-called "pearl necklace" aggregates (Bjoerling et al, 1995) with surfactants due to the induced aggregation of surfactant molecules on polymer chain above certain surfactant and polymer concentrations.…”
