Hyaluronic acid as a means to correct entropion in animals

Abstract: Entropion, or inversion of the edge of the eyelid, is a frequent multifactorial disease in which the ciliated edge of the eyelid is wrapped inside, which leads to permanent corneal trauma and eye irritation. Currently, subcutaneous fillers based on hyaluronic acid are used to correct entropion due to the fact that it does not have organ- and speciesspecificity and, therefore, carries a minimal risk of allergic reactions.
