Side weir is one of the most common diversion structures that used from many decades in irrigation, flow control, sewer, drainage engineering and other hydraulic structures. It is used to convey excess flow from the parent channel into the diversion channel when the surface water elevated above the maximum crest level. The side weir overflow is considered as a special case of spatially varied flow with decreasing the flow rate. The side weirs are classified to many types, the most common types are rectangular,
