“…[5] Despite all these methods, the environmentally benign, atom-efficient, and selective synthesis of functionalized amines from easily available olefins continues to attract the interest of many researchers. [6] Notably, the apparently simple direct addition of amines onto olefins is restricted to specific substrates or need drastic conditions. [6a] In contrast, hydroaminomethylation reactions work in a far more general manner.…”

“…p-Coumaric acid, featuring carbon-carbon double bond groups, is present in abundance in herbaceous lignin. [42][43][44] We commenced our investigation using p-coumaric acid as a model substrate. Phenol and N,N-dimethylethylamine were produced in the presence of DMA and their yields were strongly dependent on the dosage of DMA.…”

“…[18c-e] Primary amines are generally one of the most prolific members of N-containing compounds with a wide range of applications in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, polymer materials, organic synthesis, personal care products, paints, and coatings. [19] Furfural amine (FUA), a nitrogen derivative of FUR, is a promising emerging molecule with far-reaching applications (Figure 1). In pharmaceuticals, furtrethonium (an agonist of muscarinic acetylcholine receptors and used to treat glaucoma) [20a] and parasympathomimetic cholinergic drugs are the derivatives of FUA.…”
