Bismuth I 5400 Tetrakis[2-(2-pyridyl)pyridinium] Tetra-µ 3 -iodo-hexa-µ 2 -iodo-dodecaiodohexabismuthate and Bis[tris(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II)] Di-µ4-iodo-octa-µ2-iodo--dodecaiodohexabismuthate. -Both title compounds (III) and (IV) crystallize in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 1 (single crystal XRD). Although both compounds contain a centrosymmetric [Bi6I22] 4anion, the polyhedral arrangement of the distorted BiI 6 octahedra in the two compounds is quite different, and the anion of the latter compound is unprecedented in iodobismuthate chemistry. -(GOFORTH, A.
