Hydrothermal uranium-base metal mineralization of the Jánská vein, Březové Hory, Příbram, Czech Republic: lead isotopes and chemical dating of uraninite

Abstract: The Jánská vein is one of the important veins of Březové Hory mining district (central Bohemia, Czech Republic). Base metals were mined here since 14 th century and uranium ore during late 1950's. Uranium mineralization is younger than most of the base metal mineralization according to macroscopic and microscopic study. Most specimens of uraninite, obtained from archive, contain more or less abundant galena inclusions. Galena of this type is non-radiogenic as indicated by its Pb isotopic composition (ICP-MS). … Show more

“…The Raman spectra of kasolite was recorded from a natural mineral sample from the Jánská vein, Příbram base metal ore district, Czech Republic. 48,49 The resulting spectrum was compared with the theoretical spectrum computed by using density functional perturbation theory. The theoretical spectrum was computed at T ¼ 298 K, l ¼ 532 nm, FWHM ¼ 20 cm À1 .…”

“…The Březové Hory base metal district is usually subdivided into Bohutín, central Březové Hory and Černojamské ore deposits ( Figure 2). The Březové Hory and Černojamské deposits were also shown to contain some uranium mineralisation (Jánská and Černojamská veins) [19,20]. The Příbram uranium district is largely hosted by a Neoproterozoic flysch sequence ( Figure 2).…”

“…In addition to U–Pb–Zn mineralization, Volcanic‐hosted uranium deposits worldwide are generally intergrown with or associated with Be, Mo, F, Iron‐oxide–Copper–Gold (IOCG), REE–Nb–Ta. In recent years, some scholars probed into the linkage of U and polymetallic mineralization by mineralization ages, abnormal radiogenic Pb isotope composition (e.g., U–Pb–Zn mineralization, McCready & Stumpfi, 2004; Škácha, Goliáš, Sejkora, & Plasil, 2009), and the nature of hydrothermal fluid for transporting both U and metal elements (e.g., IOCG, Hrrzman & Valenta, 2005).…”
