HyPR Device

Abstract: The patient record is one of the central artifacts in medical work that is used to organize, communicate and coordinate important information related to patient care. In many hospitals a double record consisting of an electronic and paper part is maintained. This practice introduces a number of configuration problems related to finding, using and aligning the paper and electronic patient record. In this paper, we describe the exploration into the Hybrid Patient Record (HyPR) concept. Based on design requiremen… Show more

“…The combination proved successful also in collaborative content production using multi-layer digital information annotations [59,82], and enabled dynamic work-spaces such as displaying and modifying data on a blueprint [63]. “…It is thus not surprising that numerous concepts to merge the richness of paper interactions with the flexibility of digital content have been proposed, developed and explored [10]. A common coupling involves displaying digital information and commands (buttons, knobs and sliders) above the paper [11][12][13][14], on [15][16][17], besides [3,18] or beneath the paper [19][20][21][22]. Digital content can be displayed by either projecting it on and around paper, or by showing it on a nearby display.…”

“…Many publicly available applications offer symptom tracking/logging functionalities8 or clinician-patient technologies9. In contrast to the numerous works in symptom loggers and clinician-patient technologies [185][186][187][188][189][190][191][192][193][194], there exists little research which explores patient matching. As we discussed in Chapter 3, many of these works propose patient matching to aid clinicians with the diagnosis of rare conditions [195][196][197][198].…”
