In vivoandIn vitrohair growth promotion effects of extract fromGlycine soja Siebold et Zucc

Abstract: Hair is a dermal adjunctive organ that protects the body from external physical and chemical stimuli; hair undergoes anagen, catagen, and telogen phases, with hair-loss occurring during the telogen phase. Alopecia is a condition wherein a person undergoes hair-loss far exceeding the normal amount, owing to diverse external factors. Wild beans are rich in isoflavone and amino acids known to prevent hair-loss; compared to cultivated beans, many wild bean species have higher protein content. This study aimed to d… Show more

“…The research on herbs and active constituents as hair growth promoters has been driven by their less toxicity, easy availability, low‐cost, patient compliance and more than one mode of biochemical action . Specific effects of herbal extracts, polyherbal formulations, flavonoids and natural compounds on DPCs have been examined . In vivo hair growth promoting effects as proof of concept are also mentioned.…”

“…The animals in each group except group one and four were delivered topically an amount of the drug equivalent to 3 mg twice/d for 30 d at a square area of 10×5 cm 2 of the dorsal part and rubbed 3-4 times. This process was repeated every morning and evening for 4 w. Rat's skin was observed for hair growth by taking photographs using a D70 model camera (Nikon, Tokyo, Japan) after 1, 7, 14, 21, and 30 d of treatment [24].…”
