“…All isolates were identified as S. pasteuri except SPv17 which was found to be Bacillus licheniformis, one of the most important bacteria in industrial enzyme production of serine protease and is commonly found in the soil and on ground dwelling bird feathers and some aquatic species (23). “…All Spv isolates used in this study showed resistance to gentamicin, as evidenced by the zone of inhibition, except isolate # H18 which was identified as B. licheniformis. Interestingly, gentamicin is an aminoglycosides which has been reported in clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus (21) and in S pasteuri (22) suggesting that Spvs found at the CE plaque may also be clinically relevant. At least 3 isolates were completely resistant to tetracycline and 1 isolate was resistant to streptomycin while susceptibility to ampicillin, penicillin G, streptomycin and tetracycline was observed at varying range ( Fig 6B).…”
