“…(-509 C/T, +869C/T, and +11929C/T) Blood samples were collected by withdrawing5mL of venous blood into sterile EDTA-containing tubes. DNA was extracted by the salting-out method, as described previously 21,22 . The isolated DNA was examined by electrophoresis using a 1% agarose gel, quantified spectrophotometrically, and stored at −20 °C until further use.…”

“…Blood samples were collected by withdrawal of 5 ml venous blood from each individual involved in this study into sterile EDTA‐containing tubes. DNA was extracted using salting‐out method as described previously Eskandari‐Nasab, Moghadampour, and Sepanj‐Nia (), Sepanjnia, Eskandari‐Nasab, Moghadampour, Tahmasebi, and Dahmardeh (). The quality of the isolated DNA was examined by electrophoresis on 1% agarose gel, quantified spectrophotometrically and stored at −20°C till further use.…”

“…Demographic characteristics of patients and their clinical complications are shown in Table 1. Brucellosis was diagnosed according to the clinical manifestations (including fever, night sweating, weakness, malaise, weight loss, splenomegaly, lymphadenophathy, myalgia and arthralgia) and positive blood cultures as described previously [29][30][31][32]. The control group included healthy blood donors with no evidence of brucellosis and genetic disorders and matched for age, sex, and geographic area.…”
