Ideal Ratios of Isoleucine, Methionine, Methionine Plus Cystine, Threonine, Tryptophan, and Valine Relative to Lysine for White Leghorn-Type Laying Hens of Twenty-Eight to Thirty-Four Weeks of Age

Abstract: Seven separate experiments were conducted with Hy-Line W-36 hens to determine the ideal ratio of Arg, Ile, Met, Met+Cys, Thr, Trp, and Val relative to Lys for maximal egg mass. The experiments were conducted simultaneously and were each designed as a randomized complete block design with 60 experimental units (each consisting of 1 cage with 2 hens) and 5 dietary treatments. The 35 assay diets were made from a common basal diet (2,987 kcal/kg of ME; 12.3% CP; 4.06% Ca, 0.47% nonphytate P), formulated using corn… Show more

“…The ratio between digestible tryptophan and digestible lysine estimated in this study was also higher than the 0.223 estimated by Bregendahl et al (2008) for optimal production of egg mass of hens from 28 to 34 weeks of age. However, these authors used increasing levels of digestible lysine in the experimental diets, which can also make the estimation of the digestible tryptophan:digestible lysine ratio subjective.…”

“…However, the ratios between them are much less influenced (Bregendahl et al, 2008), so it is more important to determine the ideal ratios between amino acids rather than the absolute requirement of the birds for each amino acid. Furthermore, the ideal profile of amino acids for commercial laying hens is not well established in the literature.…”

“…Basal diet was formulated based on corn and soybean meal to contain 149.58 g CP/kg diet and 2,900 kcal AMEn/kg diet). Ideal digestible ratios of Met + Cys, Thr, Trp, Val, Arg, Ile and Phe + Tyr relative to SID Lys were 103,81,28,96,103,80, and 121%, which corresponded to 3.0 perceptual point above the ratios recommended by Brumano et al (2010), Rocha et al (2013a), Calderano et al (2012), Rostagno et al (2011), Bregendahl et al (2008, Rocha et al (2013b) and Rostagno et al (2011), respectively. Throughout the study, hens were provided mash feed and water ad libitum.…”

“…Bregendahl et al (2008) constataram relação de 99% entre os aminoácidos sulfurosos com a lisina para máxima produção de ovos em poedeiras leves de 28 a 34 semanas de idade. Cupertino et al (2009) De acordo com os dados de peso e massa de ovos nos níveis de 0,80 e de 0,85% de metionina+cistina digestível, apesar de o consumo desses aminoácidos ter aumentado de 710 para 742 mg/ave/dia, os valores absolutos destes parâmetros reduziram.…”
