Identification of an adaptor protein‐2 mu gene (AccAP2m) in Apis cerana cerana and its role in oxidative stress responses

Abstract: The adaptor protein‐2 (AP‐2) complex refers to a class of proteins that play an important role in cargo recognition and are involved in clathrin‐mediated endocytosis of cargo proteins from the plasma membrane in animal cells. However, there have been few studies of AP‐2 in insects. Here, we isolated an AP‐2 gene from Apis cerana cerana (A. cerana cerana) and explored the function of this gene, named AccAP2m. The obtained amino acid sequence of AccAP2m is highly conserved across species and contains conserved f… Show more

“…On the basis of the cDNA sequences, primers (as shown in Table 1) were designed and synthesized by Sangon Biotech Company (Shanghai, China). The ORFs of AccJNK (GenBank ID: XM_017055351.2) and AccAP‐1 (GenBank ID: MF994311.1) were cloned by PCR using the following procedure: 10 min at 94 °C, 34 cycles of 40 s at 94 °C, 40 s at 56 °C, and 2 min at 72 °C and 10 min at 72 °C (Wang et al ., 2019b). The PCR products were purified using a Gel Extraction Kit (Solarbio, Beijing, China) and ligated individually into the cloning vector pMD19‐T (TransGen Biotech).…”
