Identification of chemical ingredients of peanut stems and leaves extracts using UPLC‐QTOF‐MS coupled with novel informatics UNIFI platform

Abstract: Peanut stems and leaves have been used traditionally as both herbal medicines and special food in Asia. In this study, the main functional compounds of peanut stems and leaves extracts were identified using UPLC separation coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry (QTOF-MS), and a traditional medicine library. Three different extraction solvents (ethyl acetate, petroleum ether and n-butanol) were evaluated to prepare the extracts of peanut stems and leaves. A total of 283 chemical compounds were identified … Show more

“…Arachis hypogaea is suitable for growth in sandy soil areas with a warm climate and moderate rainfall and is one of the most valuable oilseed crops in the world (Deng et al, 2016) The estimated lethal concentration (LC 50 ) values (mg/L) and 95% confidence limits were determined using probit analysis. CL denotes confidence limit.…”

“…In a previous experiment, aqueous extracts of PSL were found to contain four main chemicals (linalool, 5-hydroxy-4 ′ ,7-dimethoxyflavanone, 2 ′ -O-methylisoliquiritigenin and ferulic acid) which may contribute to the promotion of sleep by PSL aqueous extracts. 11 However, it was not clear from that 4886 www.soci.org L Deng, A-M Shi, Q Wang study whether these four ingredients were the key factors in PSL aqueous extracts that had sedative-hypnotic and anxiolytic functions.…”

“…Ultra‐high‐performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) has the advantages of high resolution, high sensitivity and high analysis speed compared with the traditional HPLC (Li et al, ). QTOF–MS can form high‐accuracy molecular mass spectrometry information (Deevanhxay et al, ; Deng et al, ). The MS E has two alternative scan functions that were utilized for data acquisition (Ni et al, ).…”
