Image Encryption using Simplified Data Encryption Standard (S-DES)

Abstract: In this paper a number of image encryption algorithms based on chaotic maps has been proposed. Images are routinely used in diverse areas such as medical, military, science, engineering, art, entertainment, advertising, education as well as training. The fundamental issue of protecting the confidentiality, integrity as well as the authenticity of images has become a major concern. Most of the available encryption algorithms are used for text data. However, due to large data size and real time requirement, the … Show more

“…Henceforth, how to keep this sort of data protected from attackers, turns into a fundamental and dire test. [1][2][3][4] Numerous algorithms have been created to safeguard the digital images and videos in the diverse fields, [5][6][7][8] for example, advanced encryption standard (AES), old-fashioned data encryption standards (DES), 9,10 encryption algorithms approach based on chaotic or hyperchaotic systems, [11][12][13][14][15][16] wave transmission, random grids, 17,18 as well as techniques based on optical and phase changed encryption methods. 19,20 Among current data encryption advancements, an intriguing method that is based on bit plane deterioration has indicated magnificent encryption execution and is effectively actualized in hardware.…”

“…Protecting the security of information and avoiding losses due to information leakage is an urgent task for human beings. Traditional encryption algorithms such as DES [13] and RSA [49] have a wide range of applications in text encryption, but the applications of traditional encryption algorithms are not sufficient to meet the timeliness and security requirements of image information encryption. Therefore, how to encrypt image information quickly and effectively has become a popular research field.…”
