“…The results are similar to those of a smaller study in which samples from 169 patients with severe CAD were compared with samples from 64 healthy persons and showed about a 0.04 difference in the AUROC between apo B and LDLC or total cholesterol or triglycerides. 6 As demonstrated in Figure 1, this translates into about a 7.5% increase in true-positive frequency for apo B compared with LDLC at a false-positive frequency of about 0.31. The cut point of 0.31 is near the false-positive frequency for LDLC that corresponds best to the National Cholesterol Education Program cutoff of 1.3 g/L (3.36 mmol/L) for LDLC.…”
