Impact of Land Transition on Landscape and Ecosystem Service Value in Northeast Region of China from 2000–2020

Abstract: Drastic land pattern change has taken place in the northeast region of China, which may have a significant impact on landscape and ecosystem service. Up to now, insufficient renewal of land use patterns may limit the latest assessment of landscape transition and ecosystem service value. Meanwhile, the adaptive ecosystem service value improvement method should be established. To solve this issue, the integrated methodology of land-use change monitoring—landscape analysis—the promoted ecosystem service measureme… Show more

“…We first compared this result with Northeast China, as the Sanjiang Plain is located in Northeast China. The ESV loss ratio of Northeast China is 1.89%/yr from 2000 to 2020, but specifically 1.54%/yr in 2000-2010 and 0.35%/yr in 2010-2020 [60][61][62]. The data show that the ESV loss rate of Sanjiang Plain is higher 2.32%/yr in 2000-2010 and 0.28%/yr in 2010-2020 than that of Northeast China, respectively.…”

“…In 1997, Costanza put forward the importance of ecosystem service value assessment [37], and the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment (MA) in 2005 tabulated ecosystem service functions as supporting functions, supplying functions, regulating functions, and cultural functions, with reference to previous studies [38]. On this basis, Xie Gao-di established the ecological service value table per unit area of China's terrestrial ecosystem to correct the ecosystem service function, and the research results have been widely used in many studies [39][40][41].…”

“…The assessment of ESV is the basis for implementing ecological protection measures, conducting environmental and economic accounting, and formulating ecological compensation policies [10]. There are two primary approaches for evaluating and predicting an ESV: the method of unit service function pricing and the method of the unit area value equivalent factor [11].…”
