Impact of Selected PSII Parameters on Barley DH Lines Biomass and Yield Elements

Abstract: In our study, we focused on the link among various parameters of chlorophyll a fluorescence and yield elements in the barley doubled haploid (DH) lines. There were significant differences in all studied DH lines, both in yield components and parameters of chlorophyll a fluorescence. The most variable parameter was overall performance index of PSII (PI) while the least was the amount of energy trapped in PSII reaction centers (TRo/CS). Considering yield components, high variation was also observed in the subseq… Show more

“…The Fisher's least significant differences (LSDs) were calculated for cultivars and times as well as cultivar × time interaction and on this basis, homogeneous groups were determined. The relationships between particular VOCs were assessed using Pearson's correlation, independently for each artificial stress factor [16]. These relationships are represented in the results section as heatmaps.…”

“…Additionally, the products significantly affected the concentration of macronutrients in plants. Statistical methods as Mahalanobis distances and correlation analysis are often applied in agriculture [45][46][47].…”

“…It was proven that barley kernels can be considered a wholesome food commodity, as they provide minerals, calcium and phosphorus, a moderate amount of protein and fiber, and B vitamins [2]. In Iran, and even in some developing countries, barley is known as the second most important food and feed crop after wheat [3]. Iran was one of the ten countries with the highest barley seed production in 2020 [4].…”
